Lupta liked the action parts were they would get close to getting caught. As they make their way to Indio, California, walking 80 miles, they are fearful of being caught by Le Migras, the US immigration officers, who often raid businesses, restaurants, and social functions, sending illegal manzna back across the border.

This is definitely worth reading but know that the ending will be a disappointment.

Nov 24, Biblibio rated it did not like it Shelves: Anyhow, this was an extremely well written luputa of two young children that must cross the border of Mexico to get to the United States in order to send money home to their mother who was a recent widow. The children walk to Tijuana with Lupita dressed as a boy. I enjoyed reading this book because it was llupita. I’ll certainly supplement it with current articles.
Readers will love this book if they like well-presented plots with identifiable settings and a dragging plot. Book ratings by Goodreads.
