It helps define the world, the actions of those good and bad, their religions, politics, and motivations: All of his conversations are so much fun I laughed at nearly all of them. The First Heightening allows one to sense the auras of others, the next gives perfect pitch, and on and on they go. And boy did he know what he was doing when he wrote this one! And I’m not saying sahderson shouldn’t have magical powers. That made me want to offer something new.

This is in my opinion one of the slowest books he’s written, and compared to other books in the Cosmere, this is definitely not on par with the level of perfection that you’ll find in the Stormlight books.

Sanderson created a colorful world full of intrigue and mystery, the story was gripping and full of twists and mind games. Breath can be used by those with enough to awa k en obj e cts that contain colou r and hence cause them to live.

And then secondly I read this absolute gem of a novel. Not to be missed fantasy. Otherwise, I’m not sure if I would have caught the easter eggs hidden in the story. The god in the palace.

I love this book so much. One thing I admire about this author is his dedication to world-building. Different and unique cultures, traditions and traditions explained and written with such great care, very understandable as well.

I’m happy to keep my other secrets safe in my brain haha. Maybe my expectations were too high. I always praise Sanderson books for all of the rich characters.
